Having researched on line for the best price for a washing machine, I was perhaps lured into making a decision I now unfortunately do regret! Although the price was the same as other retailers, the offer of a 10% discount for being a new customer and taking the 3 month payment option sounded attractive. I placed the order on 12th August and the website stated that delivery would be by 19th August. I checked the status regularly on the site and on 15th August noted that the order had been processed and forwarded to the supplier and marked as dispatched. The delivery date always stated it would be 19th August,so I took a day off work to await delivery. However, on contacting the Very 'helpline' on the morning of 19th August (using the word 'help' very loosely!) I was informed that the washing machine would not be delivered as stated, and they went on to add that they didn't know when it would be delivered as it was up to the supplier to tell me that information. I then informed them that by law it was Very's responsibility as the sale was made with them and the delivery date was stated on their 'named' website. However, to my absolute disbelief I was then told that it had nothing to do with the helpline either as they were a third party named Shop Direct. Also, the customer services is also managed by Shop Direct, so you will never get to Very. I immediately asked for the order to be cancelled and my account terminated. Having put the phone down for about 2 mins I was coincidentally contacted by the supplier, who informed me that they had only just received the order from Very. You have to wonder who is telling the truth, but all I can say is, look at the reviews on this company's total lack of customer service,and avoid dealing with them. It will be interesting to see if I am billed for anything.
