For kitchen appliances - shop elsewhere !

Having recently moved house, we wanted to order a integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher and cooker hood. As we both work full time we had to pick a company that offered Saturday delivery, and were happy to pay a little more for that service.

We found the items that we wanted on Argos's web site and before placing the order phoned them with the product numbers to check that we could indeed have a Saturday delivery. It took ages to get through - which should have set the alarms bells off really - and when we did we were assured that we could get the delivery as we wanted. So - we placed the order, and that's when the problems started.

We also paid for their removal / disposal service so that they would take away the old units.

What followed over the next few days, was a series of about 20 phone calls from the suppliers in which we were told we couldn't have a Saturday delivery, and also asking for more money to take away the old appliances.

We of course cancelled the order, and the Argos customer services team (for want of a better description) didn't seem to care one bit!

As we were still getting calls from the suppliers trying to arrange delivery, despite the cancellation, we tried calling the Argos customer services number late in the day, to try and get them to sort it. After 45 minutes on hold, my wife gave up - and emailed them instead.

Ironically now, we keep getting emails from them in which they ask us to tell them how they did, and rate the customer service !

Don't shop at Argos for such goods - go to Comet or somewhere else that actually knows how to supply and deliver such things.
