This is the first time I have felt the need to openly complain about such a poor service.
We ordered a furniture set for our soon to be first child about a 3 weeks ago. Argos gave us a delivery date via email for the 4 Sept. My wife booked the day off work to which the items never arrived. I called argos and they said "we do not know where it is and when it will arrive" upon further conversations the next day they said it is out of stock!
I said you must of known it was out of stock well before the delivery date to which they said some one should of told you.
I went on to say this is not good enough and asked what they would do about it.
They said as a gesture of good will we will send you 10% of your order as a gift card. But you would still have to wait till it arrives to get it. When I asked for the date they still didn't have an answer. The 10% wouldn't of even covered half the cost for booking the day off.
I asked to cancel my order and be compensated for the inconvenience, lack of communication and the hassle of my wife booking a day off work which has cost us a days wages. They offered us £10!!!! What a joke. How can they expect future custom from us if this is how they value us.
I would rather spend £100 more and shop elsewhere then go back to this incompetent, useless company!!
If Argos are reading this please feel free to check everything I have stated.
