Six and a half weeks ago i ordereed two bed frames, with five day lead in for delivery, one wardrobe with a fourteen day lead in delivery, two bookcases which were delivered in two days and four chest of drawer sets. Once i had paid for the order i was informed i would be contacted about delivery of the larger items and was then given a date six weeks later of tuesday 7th Aug for these items supposedly in stock for delivery!
Last week, five weeks into my wait and whilst away on holiday, i get a voicemail message to say "there is a problem with sourcing stock and the order will not be delivered until i contact them". On sunday 5th Aug my partner in who's name the order was placed called them from his mobile whilst at work and was told the order could not be sourced for the four sets of drawers and so the whole order was cancelled, he asked if i could discuss this matter with them as i was at home and could access the order details and he was told "no only the person in who's name it was placed". I travelled 10 miles to where he was working and we again called argos at great expence from the mobile and were told that they couldn't fulfill the order (after six weeks!) and did we want to order anything else instead, to which i replied " I was no longer in front of the computer to do so as I had had to travel to the named person on the order!" I requested the four drawer sets they could not provide be refunded and was asked to wait whilst this was done, then I asked the status of the two bed frames and wardrobe on the same order, the argos call handler asked when they were scheduled to be delivered? to which I said tuesday 7th Aug 1 - 6pm, but told her the previous woman had said this was cancelled, she assured me they were still arranged for delivery that day, but she would call our mobile number to confirm this on Monday, well that was a complete lie no call.
Stupidly today I took the day off work to be home for the delivery and by mid afternoon became concerend, so phoned my partner at work to call them again. He was then informed that the order had been cancelled for delivery today and that argos would be phoning to arrange a redelivery date!!!!
As this is totally unacceptable, we've done all we can to accommodate their mis=management in order placing and sourcing department's and accepted the refund after six weeks, they still can't be bothered to contact us to let us know what they are doing.
Once again i called them this evening, this time i'm informed that the order has been totally cancelled today and an 'instore'refund made, which is amazing as I haven't left the house as I've been waiting for them and my partner is at work, so who was this person instore? When I said that basically someone at argos has just decided to cancel the order and refund the whole thing, without reason and without informing us I was again told a refund had been made and the order was cancelled, but it wasn't their fault, HA HA HA. When I asked to speak to a manager or who to complain to, I was told basically I was wasting my time, they wouldn't answer me either and I'd just be further frustrated whilst spending another 20 mins on the phone. Oh and they wouldn't even do the courtesy of calling me back at their expense for their mistake, so I've run up a large mobile phone bill to have absolutely no furniture delivered to me after six and a half weeks.
