“Increased Cost ”

Written on: 10/04/2012

I was suprised to go to my local BB last night and find that all bundle dvd rental deals had dissapeared and been replaced with a rather staunch £3.50 per film.

The driving force for our family was the relatively reasonable £10 4 films four nights and then if memory serves they reduced it to 3 films?

Now to benchmark their pricing in such a way is surely going to drive custom to online offerings such as netflix.
They have basically opertated in such a way that annoys the population by attempting to profiteer from new custom as apose to catering for an existing customer base.

Surely incentivising to buy into economies of scale would increase revenue rather than driving customers to rent 1 maybe 2 films.

Needless to say I will be looking for an alternative.

I was advised by my local Blockbusters that the pricing has gone up and the deal have finished because A if you want more stock in like BluRay titles (to which is on a huge rise) then the price needs to be upped and the deals have finished so they actually have product on the shelves (how many times did you go into your local Blockbusters to find all the new releases gone and not only gona but not due back until Tuesday - if you rents 4 for 4 nights for £10 on a Friday night).
It's not a con it's a business and good luck going to NetFlix, Love Film etc as ive joined them all to see how they compare and are shocked that they have NO new release titles and charge £7 a month for movies that are 3/4/5 years old.
If you wanna stop going into Blockbuster then do it and stop bitching about it as I'm sure they don't want your custom anyway if you're that cheap and broke!!
