One month and three unanswered emails after my order I called Sewing World again expecting to be told that they were getting the product that week and I should have it the following week - as a previous phone call had gone. “Frustrated customer”

Placed an order on 13th May and as at 7th July still waiting for a refund. Never answer emails and difficult to get hold of on the phone. Have been told it is a problem with their streamline company and basically will have to wait until their boss can settle dispute. “avoid like the plague! ”

After several days of research my wife decided a Horn Sewers Vision table was the best item for her new sewing room. Internet searches showed this shop offering the best deal, delivery about 2 weeks. I knew Horn shipped direct to the customer so rang and spoke to the manager who took my order and credit card details. He said Horn would contact me a week before delivery to confirm date and time. “WARNING - DO NOT USE”

I placed my order over the phone after I rang up to check a machine was in stock. The boss took the money straight away and that was the one and only time I got to speak to him. Then the games began - I was given false deliver dates, lied to and ignored until I cancelled my order. Now I wait for a refund of £900. I had a pattern requiring new snag-free Velcro. Every shop I tried had not even heard of it, let alone had any in stock. With no expectations, I went to Sewing World. Not only did they know what I was actually asking for, but they HAD SOME IN STOCK!!! O.K. So they only had black left in stock but had some! Although the machine I wanted to order appeared to be in stock on the web site I thought I would ring them first to double check and was told it was in stock. On the 29 April I placed an order with Sewing World for several items of haberdashery. Two-thirds of the items arrived in dribs and drabs over several weeks. I phoned twice asking when I would receive the outstanding item and each time there was an excuse and was told (rather tersely) that it would be sent as soon as they had it in stock. I have been shopping online for years, these people take the trophy. Ordered a machine 2 weeks ago. Nothing from them. Phone them 5 or 6 times and they were always busy and someone will call you back. Had to make polite threats. Machine arrived poorly packaged. Protection in box was old patterns. Not threaded correctly and when I looked at the instruction manual sent it was for a different model. Had to download the right manuel at a cost of £5.00. Every review i read about Sewing World amazes me....in a bad way. Why treat customers so poorly as you will never get repeat business? I can only assume that there is a significant proportion of people who give up after a while and Sewing World keep their money for free? Who knows? It just goes to show how you judge a company from their professional looking website when really they are far from it. It has been a good lesson for me to look at reviews before buying from another company online.

Their website is not accurate. Be warned that if it says it is in stock, it probably isn't. I had excuse after excuse as to why my patterns could not be delivered. It got to stage where the excuses were getting unbelievable and i asked for my money back. Surprise, surprise... The next day they were dispatched!! The day before they said their suppliers had to do an emergency restock the following week and releastically they would not be able to send them for another 4 weeks. Amazing that! Ask for a refund. I did, and the next day my items were dispatched even though They said the day prior "realistically it will be the end of the month" of May before they would get them in stock!
