I bought this laptop about ten days ago and it's been a joy to use. I am not really a techie or a demanding user (gaming etc) and use it for emails, surfing, you tube and spotify. Can't really fault this laptop, it's lovely to look at (mine is in red colour and it's gorgeous), very fast (i5-3210M processor), plenty of memory (6GB RAM, 500GB HDD), it's less heavy than I thought for a laptop that has a DVD rewriter installed, it has a nice screen (not full HD but good enough for sure), battery life is very good (4-5 hours), it 'wakes up' within 2 seconds from the hibernation/sleep mode, the speakers are surprisingly good too. It has a good full sized keyboard which I like although the backlight on keyboard would be nice too but this model does not have it. The laptop is quiet, as expected you can hear bits working within it from time to time but the sound level is very low and not in any way an impediment. The laptop stays cool and does not overheat due to special cooling technology employed here by ASUS.
Yes the laptop has got Windows 8 installed which is a bit tricky to work with in addition to a super highly responsive track pad which can be annoying until you get a hang of it. Also it does have some ASUS bloatware installed already but that does not bother me much as it takes just a fraction of memory and you can always uninstall it anyway.
Overall, if you like the look and specs of this laptop, do yourself a favour and buy it. It is a lovely product and you will feel happy that you bought it. It cost me £373 with delivery from Simply Asus which is a very sensible deal for the quality and specification this laptop offers.
