I recently bought Pageplus X7 to replace my previous version. On phoning to register I was offered X8 at a discount together with a refund on my purchase of X7. Great. I noticed that no refund was included in the charge to my card so I emailed to find out when the refund would be made. I was told NO refund had been applied and if I wanted one I needed to return the software. This is NOT what I was told by the 'sales agent'. I have just about all the available Serif software and have used it for years but no more. Do not take a word any Serif person says as the truth. I have been deceived and I don't like it.

My 1st issue was pushy salesman trying to sell me webplus x 6, which I was intrested in until they lied to me regarding half price sale just come in for it, when ive had pop ups on my computer for the last 2 months offering half price. And when I said I would leave it until after my hols in four weeks and he said its only on offer for 2 weeks HAHA "WHAT LIES" anyway I found it much cheaper with another site but same software. My second issue is customer service is rubbish when ive had problems publishing my site, basically very unhelpful and didn't resolve my problem.

I purchased PagePlus X6 but before I had a chance to work with it due to getting out writings, health issues, etc. I received a call suggesting PagePlus X7 at a great deal. I'd bought a lot at one shopping--the whole set, paid over $700.00.d I had PhotoShop CS 4, an upgrade from CS 2 and hadn't had time to learn it for same reasons. I think I'm gonna send back the PagePlus X7, ask for a refund and buy no more for now. I told them I wished I'd never bought any till I learned PhotoShop. Hope I can get my refund. It's not a lot--although to me now, it kinda is--I just don't like taking something else on when I haven't learned what I have. I need other things so much more. I already have Microsoft Desktop Publishing 2010 and wish to learn it first. As a gifted artist, I've been able to do well with plain Printshop.

I have been a Serif customer for many, many years & until recently was quite happy with your products catering for my requirements at a reasonable price. However , over the last couple of years I have become more & more disillusioned by the claims of it's software and it's actual performance. MoviePlus6 was purported to be able to produce screensavers with music and to support animated GIF files which in practice is not true. Some of the sale claims of PhotoPlus5 never materialised. I purchased my copy in September 2012 only to have support for the product stopped at the end of March 2013. In general most purchases come with 12 month guarantee but not with Serif it would appear. In my opinion this is little more than corporate blackmail to force customers to buy the new versions. I can not envisage the circumstances that would persuade me to purchase any further products from Serif

I consider myself computer savvy but a complete novice when it comes to actually creating websites. Surfing the web for some freeware to try, I happened across WebPlus 5X Starter Edition. Fininding it quite easy to use but only being able to build 5 pages at a time, I purchased WebPLus 6X along with PaegPlus X6 and PhotPlus 6X. I found WebPlus 6X really easy to use and very soon had a website up and running. Since then, the website has needed tweaking and up dating which I have found really easy to do. I would recommend this package to any novice. As for PagePlus 6X and PhotoPlus 6X, I'm sure they are good in their own rights but were not for me. Similarly, DrawPlus 6X, which was bought from a followup sales call - not a good decision. All items apart from the WebPlus have been returned. Give them their credit though, Serif have honoured their money back guarantee although they did try, tediously, for me to keep the software. Overall experience - Good but tedious in parts.

On the whole I am getting to know the prog but to date I have not been able to find a way of correcting converging vertical. A problem that often crops up after a travelling holiday in a city. Is there something I am missing?

The staff are most helpful and I have used their products for about 20 years and have found them all excellent.

This is the second time I have trued to return items, and been refused a refund. You owe me £500-00 and I want the money in cash, not a credit note. You promise a full refund, where is it.

Staff always keep me up to date with the latest upgrades or anything I might be internested in. They are always very polite, friendly and respectful on the phone so it does encourage you to try something. H R does a good job of employing the best staff. If there is a problem there is no problem returning it.

Serif make a great range of software, and while some of their titles might not be state of the art, they are always great value and have very rarely let me down. I've used PagePlus to layout and publish a complex 474 page book with hundreds of illustrations, and produced half a dozen websites with WebPlus. I've found a few minor bugs in MoviePlus, but all Video Editing software seems to suffer from this problem. I have some minor criticisms. Almost all the phone calls they make to you are thinly disguised sales calls. They are pleasent enough though, and you do occasionally get offered a deal that is too good to miss. You do sometimes finding yourself buying an old version at a low price and then get told about a new version. One thing I can't understand is why they use Shift-Click for multi-selection when Windows and almost all the other software I use employs CTRL-click. But these "faults" are minor when you look at the great value for money and stabilty of their products.

The products are generally very good and functional, although perhaps not quite as slick as some other equivalent ones. The prices, once the different offers are applied, are always reasonable. Dealing with Serif, however, would be greatly improved if only it were possible to install and use the product without the need to telephone for a "registration key". Other suppliers ably manage to provide on-line registration facilities, but the calls to Serif are instead all about trying to sell something else; the sales patter becomes tedious, time consuming and is now a serious consideration in terms of any future purchase.

Hello all I rang up to solve a problem which was sorted out very easily. BUT after upgrading to the new X6 & paying a total of £59 thats with V.A.T only the next day i saw a deal sent by Email nearly £20 cheaper !!!!! Sorry but if you spend year after year upgrading software you would think talking to people over the phone you would be giving a great deal BUT sadly not in this case. I was upset with the staff on the phone really if they could see a much better offer & could see i've stuck with them over the years they would keep my happy as a long term loyal customer... As we all no photoshop is very hard to learn where Sarif helps you in every way i will stick with them BUT will wait for offers by Email..... At the end of the day i'm very happy with the software. Loyal customers need looking after... Gary

I have used PagePlus desktop publishing since PP3. I then moved on to PP8. Now, with Windows 7, I've upgraded to PP X6. PP does absolutely everything I want. It is intuitive, comprehensive and very good value for money. I have for some time also wanted to do video editing and I grappled with Sony Vegas Pro and then Sony Movie Studio Platinum. They both repeatedly crashed after only a few minutes of editing. After comprehensive efforts to find a solution (including abortive e-mails and a letter to Sony's Technical Support) I gave up. Now, thank goodness I've discovered MoviePlus X6 which, like PagePlus is extremely easy to use, but with complete flexibility for home - and serious - editing. I work in BBC Radio and I want my video sound to be absolutely professional. Poor sound can ruin an otherwise good video. MoviePlus X6 gives me absolutely all I need with total control of fades, cross fades, and variable volume levels even within a single shot. Needless to say the actual video is equally controllable. There are so many functions, it would take too long to list everything MoviePlus X6 can do, but I'm sure that nobody working in video would be disappointed. After the frustration of Sony, Serif have rescued me. Thank you a thousand times. David

Every few months yet another 'version' of PhotoPlus comes out, so say heavily discounted, ie overpriced in the first instance, and then Serif go on to withdraw the support one has already paid for. The heavy sales pressures are just indicative that this Company has to employ them to get their wares away. Well, I am not playing anymore thank you very much.

Having been a customer of Serif for nearly 20 years I complained that support was only offered for the current software and briefly for the version before that. I said I would be returning one product and not buying from them again. The response I got contained no apology, no comments about being sorry to lose my business, just 'go on the blog'. The products don't actually do a lot more than they did in the early days and have become progressively more complicated to use - similarly the guides are now really difficult to understand. I was able to find the answer I wanted for MoviePlus X5 by looking in my Movieplus 5 handbook, but in the MoviePlus X5 manual I simly couldn't find it. The guides also exclude certian information which means that you can't carry out the tasks you want to. In think this was a good company which produced some good products, but now they've just got too big for their own boots. Very disappointing.

I have bought a number of items from Serif. They offer a lot of stuff, much of which is rubbish, old versions of recently upgraded software, software that slows down your computer drastically, etc. There is the occasional gem and that can make it worthwhile. What isn't worthwhile is the continual harrassment by telephone from Serif salesman. They also offer deals (like "take the bundle and send back what you don't need and we'll give you a refund on those items") and then refuse to give you the refund. Following that episode I asked for no further phone calls but still they come. They will not take no for an answer. I cannot bring myself to ever buy from them again.

Polite and understanding staff. Customer kept up to date with new products. A terrific company I have only used Serif over the last 8+ years for all my programe needs.

I now have the set, Page PLus, Draw Plus, Photo and Movie. Clear manuals and tutorials on the web. Any project I start, Iknow I have all the tools I need. Unlike some companies I`ve tried where the s/w crashes, bugs are still in the system; with Serif the S/W is stable, and the only time I`ve need to ring up Serif was to get a reg number so I could load the s/w to my Laptop. The ability to load the s/w to Laptop and main PC under one license is FANTASTIC.. Why can`t others do this? Within a few minutes of opening the s/w you`ll be able to create something, it`s that easy to use. But use the FREE tutorials and manuals and in hours it`ll seem like your an expert. I`ve tried others, but I`m staying a SERIF user from now on. Great software, loads of back-up. Lets me concentrate on the project at hand.

Draw Plus 5 and Photo Plus 5, I have enjoyed using. They are pretty straight forward to use and the results can be pleasing. They are, of course, not perfect and there some irritating little foibles, but there again that could also be due to me not getting the hang of something. What I think is not my fault is the ability to touch up in detail a photograph with sections missing. The sampling tool is just not sensitive enough. However, what has really upset me about Serif is the telephone sales activities of some staff. I am sure I have bought stuff that I did not really want just to get rid of the sales person. I know that sounds feeble, but it's the truth. The plea that 'you have 30 days to return stuff'ignores the hassel that incurs, or does it? Other sales people have been reasonable; and technical help has been very good. Pity for Serif to be let down by some of its front of house staff.

Excellent service and products with a very reasonable price tag. Good offers. My main concern is that I am constantly being targeted, mainly by email almost everyday. Can't Serif pick up the items that I have no interest in at all. It is a shame that you can't necessarily just get an "upgrade price" - I can't afford to buy every version that comes out just because it has a few "extras" in the new version. I need to judge will I use the extra add-ons that will make me buy a new version. It is also a pity when Serif withdraw support for an old version such as a version 5 just because version 6 has arrived. Even so, what I have got are great products.
