“Poor feedback”

It took less than the average time receiving my product but when it arrived the computer was making a weird sound and mouse pad wasn't working properly. I thought about returning it but apparently there is a cost of £35 and i needed in rush. So i gave up and decided to keep it, anyway it is working, let see for how long...
Some advice would be helpful at the time of choosing all components as well.
