I was thinking about buying a laptop from laptops direct but on looking at the reviews I am having second thoughts. Has anyone had trouble with them?

I understand your problem...but all i can tell you is from my own experience everything went very smoothly. I did order over the phone explaining i was a little apprehensive .... but paid for next day delivery....and it was delivered, computer is perfect. Just be careful of a company called 'Save on Laptops' ...they are a complete shower ..

I have to say I have had no problem whatsoever with my Sony Vaio laptop, bought last year from Laptops Direct: it is working like new. I have posted this reply as I was asked to by The Review Centre, and it compliments my earlier post saying how delighted I was with the product, the price and the advice I received from Laptops Direct.

Definitely. Apart from the follow up e-mail trying to sell extras (which to be fair some may want), the level of after-sales care was appalling. I was branded a liar and they refused to investigate the issue, even after trying to escalate it to the managing director. All that came back was another stock response stating it must be our fault even though that response indicated that it could have been caused by something wrong at manufacture. Even taking the item back to the store met with a "customer service" guy who did everything to avoid dealing with the issue, including walking away while I was speaking to him (with no apology) to deal with someone (I suspect because they were about to give them money). Ignorant and rude, I would not buy from them again and would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

Hello, I had some problems with Laptops Direct. I wanted some specific features and despite advertising this with the computer, the computer they delivered did not have the features. I thus sent it back for a different model which they said would have the features, but again this was untrue. i.e. they did not know the specification of what they were selling. Also, I didn't find this after sales support particularly easy, or very helpful.
