I ordered two pairs of precription sunglasses from their 'Fast Shipping' range because they claim to ship within 24 hours. After 8 days I started emailing them urgent messages as I needed them for my holiday. In all I sent about 10 emails over 3 days and each time received a 'cut and paste' reply from an operative called 'Kally'. I assume that Kally is a generic name for all their customere service staff. I explained that the glasses were required urgently as we were going away. They made no attempt to ship them or even respond to specific questions. They refused to give a phone number to call them on as it wasn't their poilcy to speak to customers. This is not a UK company and they have no way of shipping on a 24 or 48 hour basis even if they had the stock. I belive they may be based in Hong Kong. Eventually I gave up and demanded a refund - again they came up with a stock reply and I have no confidence that I will get my money back from them. I have therefore instructed my credit card company to charge back the amount. The final email I received from them asked if I wanted to choose alternative pairs from their 48 hr shipping range at a 5% discount. I can only assume that if I did so I may receive them for next years holiday! Shambolic, frustrating and extremely poor customer service. However, having read response letters written by a virtual customer services manager (see previous reviews), who I tried to contact by email to sort out the problem, they will say they did everything they could - DON'T BELIEVE THEM. I also suspect some of the good reviews are bogus. Their website is very good as are the testimonials and company ethos etc. but it seems to be a means of extracting money and is just marketing hype with no foundation.

Please, note, that even if the ordered glasses are from Fast shipping section, 3-4 working days are required to process prescription lenses.

As you can see on this page http://www.smartbuyglasses.co.uk/fast-shipping , we have logistic centres in Germany , USA and in Hong Kong. In any case, we choose the logistic centre on a case by case basis, based on their ability to deliver our customers orders 2-3 days after being shipped from our logistic centres.

As we are able to provide better and faster service to our customers by email, we do not have a phone number listed on our website. Please write us an email with your inquiries and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you prefer to talk to one of our customer service representatives over the phone, please provide us with your phone number and we will contact you as soon as possible.

Could you please get back to us at [email protected] , providing order id, so we could follow up with customer service team and avoid similar situations in the future.

Regarding the Service Managers response below. Your response doesn't make sense. If you are saying that it takes 3-4 days to process the order and then 2-3 days to ship them, then the maximum delivery time is 7 days. In my case you hadn't even shipped after 10 days and given that you hadn't even started processing the glasses through your lab, there was no way that you would deliver under 14 days at the absolute minimum. I reiterate that both pairs of glasses were chosen from your fast shipment range. I can only assume that glasses not ordered from this range would take months if ever . I'm also starting to wonder if you are using customers money to fund your business with no intention whatsoever of delivering. YOU STILL HAVE MY MONEY - OVER £250 OF IT. You are being dishonest and misleading many customers.
I eventually cancelled my order with you on 25th July, that was 9 days ago I'm having to fill out a pile of forms from my credit card company in order to attempt to get my money back, which I resent. We also ended up going on holiday without presecription sunglasses that I could have ordered from a legitimate company.

Regarding your last comment about contacting you, I have sent you (Customer Services Manager) several emails and your so called Customer Services Dept a further 10 emails - YOU IGNORE THEM.

MAYBE YOU COULD CHECK WHO YOU OWE MONEY TO AND PAY US ALL BACK - THAT WOULD BE A GOOD START. BUT I'M SURE YOU'LL COME UP WITH SOME GOOD REASON WHY YOU STILL HOLD CUSTOMERS MONEY AFTER THEY CANCEL ORDERS. OH, AND HERE'S A THOUGHT - WHY DON'T YOU TAKE PAYMENT BEFORE YOU SHIP THE GOODS AND NOT UPON ORDER.

I'm currently having a similar experience. But yet to even receive an email reply. Wanted my glasses for my holiday, little chance of that!
