I purchased a Dave and Johnny Designer gown from this site 2 weeks ago for my brothers wedding in July. I was a little hesitant about shopping for something so expensive online but my oldest daughter had bought her dress from here and had no problems. I had purchased an expensive wedding guest dress previously from Martha's Place in Paramus that was just not right for me and due to their ridiculous return policy, I was pretty much stuck with it....you can read my review on their facebook page. So anyway, I was sure to read the return policy of Simplydresses prior to placing my order and even chatted online with their customer service before buying. I also needed to order a pair of dress shoes for my daughter's prom dress which we had already purchased unfortunately from Marthas. (Simplydresses had the same dress for over 100.00 cheaper!) I found her shoes on the site and they appeared to be the same baby pink color as her dress so I was thrilled. I placed the order for my dress at the same time with standard shipping (shipping was free due to the amount I spent). Well, 2 days later they were both here! I pulled the dress out and right away I fell in love with it. The quality was as good as you'll find. I don't understand why people are stating their dresses are low quality...maybe they ordered a 19.99 dress or something?? A designer dress is a designer dress...Anyway, I tried it on and it fit like a glove. Be sure to check your measurements against the page for the dress you want as they vary from dress to dress. It's just perfect :)
Now, on to the shoes...I opened up the box and ut-oh! They were not pink at all. They were more of a beige or skin colored and the gems that were on the shoes that I thought were clear and pink were only clear. Well, I thought somehow we had received the wrong order so I called customer service. I explained the situation and the rep was extremely helpful. He sent me an email and asked me to reply with the issue and some pictures showing the difference. He also sent me a return label and explained that I may have to pay the return shipping of 8.00 from my refund if I didn't have a valid reason for the return. Also if I wanted a refund of the amount there would be a 10% restocking fee which would have come to 3.00 or I could have store credit and not be charged the fee. Exactly what their return policy states. Well, I really didn't care about the restocking fee on 30.00 but I really didn't want to pay the return shipping since I never would have ordered the shoes if I knew they weren't pink. So I took a couple pics and replied to the email and figured it would take forever for a response. Not the case at all!! I just returned the shoes and sent the email about a week ago and within 2 days I received an email that they were crediting my card for the full 30.00! Not even as store credit which I would have been happy with since I'm planning on ordering again from them very soon:) I just today checked my online bank and sure enough...the credit is already processed!!
I have to say I will definitely be ordering from this site again. By far the best customer service I've come across in quite a while. So sorry I never ordered from here before.
As far as these reviews on this site, it is not a 20% restocking fee or reps that don't respond! I suggest you read their return policy as there are some stipulations but I found them to be extremely fair. I'm telling you, I just got finished dealing with a retailer that'll find some reason to stick it to you. That is not this site at all! And as I said, if you're in the North Jersey area, you can expect really fast shipping!
