After reading other reviews I was cautious about using Out of the city, however I'm very pleased I did. I decided to order a pair of Le Chameua wellies that came with a free gift. “Very difficult to get a refund”

“Misleading customers!”

I have to disagree with the November 13 reviewer who says they have got their act together. Placed an order for an item which was shown in stock and paid for next day delivery, payment was taken immediately. 3 days later I called to ask why I hadn't received my order (expecting to just ask for the delivery charge to be refunded) and was told they hadn't been able to locate the item in the warehouse. “Extremely poor customer service..”

I purchased an item for next day delivery. Out of the city processed my order and took payment. I then received an email informing me the item was out of stock. Despite this the money was still taken from my account. I contacted customer service to ask for a refund and was advised it was being processe. A week later the money still had not been refunded. I sent a further 2 emails requesting my money to which I also had no reply. Finally managed to get a response and money back 3 weeks later!!… Read Full Review

Couldn't agree more. I've been caught out twice, returning items that have not been refunded and told exactly the same tale - they cannot trace the goods having been returned to the warehouse and I had to provide tracking number. Once this was done, first item refunded, but still waiting on the second. DREADFUL customer service and not to be trusted.

We saw some items on the site at a really good price and decided to order them. I was pleased that we ignored the previous poor reviews because the service, the quality of the products was first class. We received the items in 2 days after opting for the free delivery and a size issue with one of the items was very quickly and efficiently resolved. “where next day delivery clearly isn't... beware”

Made an order on a thursday morning, way before the 2pm cut off for next day delivery, paid the additional postage for next day guaranteed. checked order status following morning expecting delivery tracking number.... the order was still pending... oops, this didn't look good. Made the call and had the response that there is a problem with the system and the order still isn't due to go out.. I buy a lot of things via the internet and recently purchased a Barbour jacket for my husband via OUT OF THE CITY. NEVER AGAIN. The item stated it came with a free scarf which it didnt so I emailed them. NO REPLY. My husband then tried the jacket on to find a large hole in the seam of the jacket pocket!!!! “Shockingly bad service!”

I ordered a Barbour Jacket for my son over a week and a half ago from www.outofthecity.co.uk and I have never experienced such bad customer service for many years of online shopping. Six days after ordering I received an email to say it was no longer in stock. Yes SIX WHOLE DAYS later after processing my order and payment!!!!! We are very sorry that your recent experience in shopping with Out Of The City was not an enjoyable one. Please accept our sincere apologies for the initial delay in contacting you regarding your item being unavailable.

After speaking with you we arranged for an overnight courier to send the replacement jacket of your choice along with some complimentary welly socks as a gesture of goodwill.

I appreciate that it would be very frustrating to be told that we were unable to take your item round to the local Post Office but as I am sure you can appreciate, as a business, we have goods being dispatched, collected from our premises each night by the Post Office and the courier service, and are unable to physically take single items to the Post Office.

On tracking your item I can see that your parcel was delivered and signed for the following day.

Once again, please accept our apologies and we hope this matter has now been resolved to your satisfaction.
