I ordered a fairy expensive handbag to be sent to the USA as an Xmas present. They promised free shipping for items over £150. 1) I ordered it on 11/12/15. IT NEVER ARRIVED. 2) I contacted Modalu (after Xmas) - they just told me to contact DHL. 3) I contacted DHL UK - they said it was stuck in a warehouse, waiting import tax payment - BECAUSE MODALU HAD SENT IT NOT AS A PRESENT but with a COMMERCIAL INVOICE. DHL said I could NOT pay the import tax myself, because the item was commercial - and only MODALU could pay it (or the recipient - embarrassing when you are sending a present). 4) I tried to contact DHL USA - no reply. 5) I contacted MODALU again to ask them to chase - they just said it wasn't their problem, but to contact DHL 6) I contacted MODALU yet again - to explain what DHL had said. I received a snippy email, just quoting the fine print of their terms and conditions. The only way I could solve this problem was to have relatives pay for the tax, and reimburse them. Do not buy from this company. They are not helpful, and not reliable.
