The best compromise

Before choosing Feldherr I also considered "KR Multicase" and "Battlefoam". Feldherr seems to be the best compromise from the 3 brands reviewed. In my review I compared cost, ability to store all possible models and instructions, and amount of wasted space. I was interested specifically in storage of x-wing models

Battlefoam provide very nice cases, which can be fully unzipped, and include additional pockets for instructions, etc. Unfortunately, the foam is cut specifically for certain ships. This means a lot of wasted space. They are also rather expensive.

KR Multicase foam is designed for simple cardboard cases. Although additional cases can be purchased to put the cardboard boxes in, I wanted direct access to my models. I really liked that KR Multicase foam was able to store most x-wing ships still attached to the base as they would be played with, this means less setup time, and since the shape of the foam cut outs was generic there is little wasted space. I found the cases still to be expensive, especially if you disliked the default blue foam as they charge more for additional colors.

Feldherr hard cases gave me direct access to the models and also felt sturdy. Unfortunately it lacked additional pockets for instruction guides or other material, although they could be put just down the side between the foam and case. The foam was a high quality and the model cutouts were generic to prevent wasted space, although I had to remove one section of the plastic stands x-wing ships are usually played on to get them to fit. Overall this case was reasonably priced compared to KR multicase or Battlefoam.
