Had exactly the same experience with 'goods on backorder' and have been trying since april 2013 to get a refund.
After many attempts to phone / message/ email I eventually got a reply sayiing that a refund could either be by card issuervor cheque then another announcing they had ceased trading and I should contact my card issuer for a refund!!
Glad they are going . . . Total waste of time and effort!
