Terrible customer service and treated like some sort of criminal.

Steer clear of Asos. They offer a great selection of items but their customer service is shocking and offensive. I opened an account just over a week ago. Placed a couple of orders which went well - no problems. Upon placing my third order they emailed me saying my order had been cancelled and asked for identification such as bank statements etc (I thought with the view to reinstate my order). Like an idiot I immediately emailed through everything they requested as I just thought they were being extra cautious which is always good to see from an online retailer. They then totally ignored what I had sent them and emailed me saying I have had problems across my Asos accounts so they are not taking further orders from me. I thought what they had emailed me was a mistake as I have recently returned from living overseas and have never had an Asos account before this - I replied asking for clarification. They then emailed me back to reiterate what they said in the first email and told me that FUTURE EMAILS I send to them will be ignored. Absolutely disgusting! I replied to say it was my first and only Asos account and of course no reply! By sending them my personal id surely they would have worked out that I was a new customer?! Doesn't make sense.

I have been humiliated and additionally sent them very personal information such as my driving licence and bank statements! Steer clear of this awful site. Having read the other reviews on the internet I can see that this has also happened to other customers.

Hi, I'm truly sorry to see that you've had such a disappointing experience with us. We take every complaint seriously and want to help all of our ASOS'ers. We of course want to get to the bottom of this, but we sadly can't discuss any of your personal account details over here, as it's a public domain and not a secure server. However, if you could perhaps provide the name of the adviser that emailed you this then we can hopefully speak to them to find out why this has happened. ASOS Sadie.

I can't believe that I was told directly from customer services that my future emails would be ignored but yet I write a review on a website just to share my experience with other customers (not thinking Asos themselves would contact me) and now you want to "help" me. Very very bad and it seems you have only replied to my review to save face as this is a public website!

The Asos advisor was called Naeem.
