This review is from a seller's perspective and not a critism of the website. There has been a lot of interest in the item I have for sale but in the main from complete time wasters. People viewing but expecting something different from the pictures, those definitely wanting it but then silence, people not turning up for viewings, those wanting something for nothing, endless texts asking for additional info or info already in the ad. Even buyers saying they are genuine when they are not! Unfortunately Gumtree cannot police those who respond to ads which is a pity.

It is happening with most people now. Over the last few years, gumtree have firmly established with customers that they are not a trustworthy company with no customer service. Over 400 bad reviews on this site alone. Hence, they have become a joke of a site so people don't bother with them anymore. Most people now believe that it is gumtree staff who reply to ads just to try and prove that real people are replying. REAL PEOPLE no longer use gumtree, no surprises then. A waste of time site

junk internet companies like GT must be closed by the authorities. GT has no manners, NO ADVERT, NO REFUND, NO NOTHING, NO MORE, ONLY interested in taking your money with no service, rude staff, don't risk it, they are pure junk

Gumtree seem to think that companies should only advertise in one location, if you advertise in other areas, they treat it as a duplicate advert and delete everything.
Clearly gumtree is not suitable for business users and that explains why multi national companies never advertise with them, gumtree are serious losers

Placed a job advert, within minutes got an email saying it was deleted because they thought it was in the wrong section ?? RUBBISH, what about my money, no refunds they say ? My credit card company have refunded my money also saying they are very concerned about the high number of complaints about gumtree. I have issued a complaint to Visa and Mastercard, I want an investigation into Gumtree. NEVER EVER give your credit card information to Gumtree

this greedy little site make it up as they go along. I placed an advert in the general jobs section which they deleted saying i should put the ad in a different section and guess what the section they said costs money ???
They must be very hard up to do this. As everyone keeps saying, never spend any money with gumtree, you will waste it

Gumtree ?? just because they have terrible customer service, are rude, are braindead, are not humans, but, can we blame the staff or is it the very poor management ??
Most people I know, will never use them again, don't be fooled, they have a decreasing audience big time so it makes sense to NEVER spend any money with them, complete waste of time

Gumtree is full of phantoms, it is gumtree staff who reply to ads because nobody else will use gumtree. Gumtree is not a site to spend money with, no point as it is now a losers site. Don't be fooled by them saying they are the number #1 uk site, they live in cloud cuckoo land, don't be fooled folks, gumtree is ready for the dustbin
