What a waste of time this site is why do people advertise, I have made the effort to call leave messages text email to quite a few adverts on the site no one has ever replied so what's the point ether people are very rude or the site is just rubbish, had my rant now fed up going away cant be bothered coming back,

big site, lots of ads but in reality very few real people. It seems to me that most adverts are false, probably put on by gum tree to make the site look good. I would imagine that the vast majority of people in the UK, will not use gum tree as it has been bad for years especially their customer service and the way they treat people with contempt. I know if I mention gum tree to anyone, they just laugh so word has spread around how bad gum tree is, they should be closed down

gumtree is now a dead site for employers
My advert for staff was on the site for a month, only 2 replies which means that job seekers dont use gumtree, it is now a complete waste of time

The perils of using Gumtree. You must be internet savvy if you use gumtree as they place tracking cookies on your computer. THEY SAY "Gumtree uses cookies, web beacons and other similar technologies." >>> Simply it means that they are placing unknown items on your computer without your knowledge or permisssion and without your permission is illegal. They immediately place 6 cookies (trackers) on your computer, once your computer is infected by gumtree they can track you and that means if you place an advert on the site, they know who you are and that can result in being blocked or banned which is all done from the infection they have placed on your computer. As gumtree are not a site to be trusted, if you use them, and you would be very foolish to use them, ensure your browser does not accept 3rd party cookies, such cookies are dangerous and will infect your computer with malware. Therefore you must be very savvy when using gumtree, there are simple and easy ways to hide yourself from gumtree and the infections they place on your computer, don't be caught by gumtree, they are not as smart as they think they are, infact they are complete amateurs when it comes to internet spying, they are certainly not the smartest card in the pack

I successfully sold two items within hours and my third ad was deleted and I was "banned" by gumtree. Idiots.

now charging for job adverts ?
Gum tree have flipped, charging for job adverts is going to put most people off at £17.94, its no longer a free site to use. At the moment there are so few replies to job adverts that paying will be a complete waste of money. It is the worst value for money on the net so buyer beware, if you are looking for staff you will get very few replies if any, from gum tree

gum tree no longer works, Over the last few weeks I have placed numerous job ads around the country. With all other classifieds sites I have had a great response but gum tree has the lowest response rate I have ever seen, with an average of just 3 replies per advert, gum tree has seriously gone downhill and its really no surprise when you read all the comments here. I just wonder if they are intelligent enough to understand how they have ruined their business, I rather think not. So, there is no point in spending money with them as the site no longer works and people, employers and employees alike, no longer trust them
