Due to a break-up I was selling all of my belongings including a TV cabinet. Within a day of listing it, Gumtree removed the item saying that it breached Gumtree rules saying that it was in the same vein as pornography, knives, stolen goods or that the advert used offensive language. Firstly, it's a TV cabinet! Secondly, regarding the language, judge for yourself:

Solid pine TV cabinet for sale.

I don't think that's offensive unless those kindly folk at Gumtree don't like the idea of pine trees being wrought and carved into furniture?

Pretty unprofessional, and offering no avenues for redress save for a £2/minute (from mobiles) phoneline is pretty reprehensible.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.
