“Don't get what you pay for”

Written on: 12/08/2012

I placed a free add on Gumtree which stays on the site for 3 months then expires. Firstly the add showed up in the wrong area(it was a property) and when I contacted them they said it was because they had to place it to the nearest city which was over 100 miles away! I did however get a response to my add and a viewing so when the add expired you have no option but to pay to get it back on the web. I duly paid £9.95 to be a 'featured add' for 7 days and then it would remain in the listings after that. It did appear as featured but one week on it expired!??? So I paid £10 to place an add for 1 week. I've emailed them twice and tried their online chat which is never available and recieved no reply or explanation.
I think it's now become to big for its boots as I used it a few years ago and thought it was great. There are loads of other websites to advertise for free so use them instead.
