Usual emails etc they requested bank transfer payment but invoice looked ropey to me. Anyway after much online trawling I am sure these are same guys so gladly I pass on new info. Good luck Hope this helps some one. Will be contacting trading standard first thing

“Absolute scumbags”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Huffmanrl174 on 07/12/2015

Why are these scumbags allowed to keep trading. They take your money and run. It shouldn't be allowed. Someone must have some power to stop them trading. They've taken £975 off of us - absolutely disgusting.

Hi yes phone anyone you think might be able to get these dreadful people to stop trading. We've got the police fraud squad involved but nothing positive has been reported back to us. I'm so glad you didn't part with any money. Any more news you have regarding them then I would be very interested to know

Sorry another question - what stopped you from paying any money - did something make you suspicious? I'm so determined to catch them.

“Absolute total rip off ”

written by on 08/11/2015

Paid £640 for a t4 engine ... Should of been delivered sat 29th Aug ... Didn't arrive !!! Phoned up and told due to bank holiday it would be delivered on the Tue 1st sept .. Alarm bells started to ring ,then I read the these reviews and the bells broke .. What a load of dishonest people, might as well of thrown £640 down the bog ... Since then can't get through by phone and don't respond to emails .. Probably changed company name the COMPLETE nasty ENGINE rip off artists ..so wish I'd had read this review page before ordering ..and unfortunately I don't think I am alone

“Rip off”

written by chickpea1993 on 29/10/2015

Paid £895 for an engine that never arrived. I fell for their story that the computer system was playing up and this was linked to their ability to accept card payments so i paid by bank transfer-mistake!!! Having arranged numerous times for the engine to be fitted by my garage the engine never arrived. They then promised me a refund, gave me a date that it was going to be processed, that day came and went and I have never heard from them since despite several emails to them. I assumed that they had ceased trading but checked the other day and they are still there doing what they do best taking customers for a ride as I read their most recent review about another very upset customer.

“Faulty Product, Poor Service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bobgarrett on 02/10/2015

I purchased a replacement engine for my car from Replacement Engines (actual company name East East Mechanical) of Barking replacementenginesThe quote stated “Delivery: Next Day” but it took a week to arrive despite my phoning to be told each day that it would be there tomorrow. By this time the main dealer who was to fit it had allocated the time set aside to other work so delaying the installation. Once fitted it was quickly identified that the replacement engine had an oil leak problem. The dealer identified this as being a leaking head gasket and provided a report and photographs which I sent to Replacement Engines. After some discussion over many days we agreed I should take the car to their premises (nearly 100 miles away) where they would repair it for me to collect within 10 days. When I collected it from Replacement Engines I was told the problem had not been the head gasket but an oil seal which had been replaced; the wheel lock nuts had been mislaid but were found when I refused to leave without them; the car was not ready as it had gone to be washed so I had to wait so missing an appointment; the car had been driven 400 miles while in their care (they claimed an extensive road test); and on the way home I discovered a nearly empty bottle of whisky under the seat. On return I noted it was still losing oil as the stain on my drive was growing. A little later the car broke down and could not be driven. After further discussion Replacement Engines agreed to collect the car and have it repaired by another garage as I had no confidence in them and their quality after the last experience. The car has collected and I was given a date they would return it by. A few days later I was told the repair of the head gasket had been done by them (not the other garage) and the car would be delivered back on the day promised. That day came and it did not arrive. I was then told they could not deliver it for four more days. This was unacceptable as we were going away so I had to travel 100 miles to collect it. Following their repair, after a couple of months it still leaked oil and water. The costs to me of public transport, fuel/travel, calls, letters, hire cars (for essential days only) came to over £700. I also spent considerable time travelling and communicating with Replacement Engines to try to resolve these problems and still have a drive and garage floor damaged by the oil. I got no compensation.

“Appalling Practices”

This company have also been reviewed as Ideal engines and car parts and have used the name carengines.co.uk Exposed, again, by BBC1 Watchdog on 18th June 2015. They appear to be above the law. They even have their own review page, and surprise surprise, what excellent reviews have been posted. Obviously an inside job as I could find a route to enter a review. They are situated in Barking, Essex.

“EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE, DO NOT USE THEM.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 09/08/2015

Initially very good, the engine arrived as promised, BUT, it was the wrong year model, we agreed to swop over various parts but needed different turbo's, told not to worry as replacement would be sent straight away. From then on NOTHING, when and if someone answers the phone all sorts of promises are made but nothing happens. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I WISH I HADN'T.

“As with many of the other reviews shown here, I also...”

written by AbrilPadilla on 19/03/2015

As with many of the other reviews shown here, I also fell victim to them, they will take your money and promise you 110% that the parts will be delivered in a few days however you will never get them or if you do they will be unusable. I was left waiting for an engine for 8 weeks which when it did finally arrive was not what was ordered. Since then I have received no refund and despite continued phone calls and empty promises from the manager I am £1900 out of pocket and nothing to show for it!!! Save yourself the heartache and stay well away from them!!

“DO NOT USE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Danaprian on 08/03/2015

I contacted this company for a replacement shogun engine and was told it would be £1100 plus £200 deposit on my old engine, which would be refunded once they had collected it, it took two weeks to send the replacement and when it arrived it was not usable as one of the cam balance fixing holes had been blanked off, after contacting them they did not want to change it over, I persisted and said I was claiming on their warranty as it was not fit for purpose, they finally changed it several weeks later and on installation found the head gasket to be leaking, so replaced that and approx 2 months after contacting them actually had a running engine but my old engine was never collected and I never seen my £200 refunded. Stay well clear of these fly by nighters

“DO NOT USE AT ANY COST”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DaveCollings on 13/02/2015

I required a replacement engine for my Ford Mondeo, and thought I'd researched this Company thoroughly. How wrong have I been!!! I paid for a replacement engine on the 29 Jan 15, was guarenteed that it would be delivered 2/3 Feb 15, to be told it will be delivered on the 4 Feb 15, followed by the 6 Feb 15, followed by the 9 Feb 15, 11 Feb 15 and finally 12 Feb 15. At present I am still waiting. They came up with excuse after excuse after excuse. I requested the name of the Courier company they use and was told it was called 'AOE'. Funnily enough, there is no such company by that name. I have tried to contact them today to cancel my order and see if I could get a refund but nobody is answering the phone. To the Director, I hope you have a conscious.

“LYING SCAMMING THIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!”

written by Melissa335 on 27/01/2015

DO NOT USE. I currently have the police investigating the disappearance of my car, not only did they rip me off for twice the quoted amount the engine lasted 2 months before it went drastically wrong, went back to the garage and now it has "disappeared". They talk the talk but they're actually thugs and rip off artists. Do not use under and circumstance!
