i bought my 03 gilera rcr 50 as spares or repair as it didnt run and had been sat up for 5 years. when i got my rcr home i personaly rebuilt the engine fully with all new bearings, seals, gaskets and piston and was very suprised at how cheap the parts were. also as i am only 16 i was suprised at how simple it was and would encurage other to save money and rebuild these them selves. after a succesful rebuild i put the engine back in, it preety much fired strieght up on about the 6th kick. and i have had no problems since. after running it in i found the bike realy comfortable and easy to ride as it just being derestricted i hit 50 on the flat witch i was quite stuned at. one thing i dont like about the bike is the clutch is a litle to stiff for my liking but this may cure its self over a bit more use. but as for the whole bike i would reccomend everybody and anybody to get one.
