K10 micras 1983-93 are very reliable cars even high milage 200000 ones.
They are very cheap to buy [even good ones], as they are now getting on.
Running cost are low as they are good on fuel, insurance, also parts are cheap [if not nissan items]. Parts are even cheaper if you go to a scrap yard, the second hand mechanical parts will be good just the bodywork rust tends to send them to the scrap yard.

The best car I have ever owned, I should change it, but it is costing me very little to run, so why. never let me down, a g reg 1989, 18 years old, spend very little on it, only a new clutch, body work like new, had a bit of welding done underneath the last 2 years to get it through the MOT, but thats all. The timing chain has stretched and the engine light has come on. The car can't be driven and the repair cost is 900+. The local garage say this is common-EVERY 20,000 MILES!

Overall the Nissan Micra is a nice little car. I have a 1.0, and its smooth! 5th gear is a little stiff. Mine is 10 years old now and it runs nicely. No problems. Just not good with high speed, perfect for new drivers. Wouldn't recommend for motorway journeys. However, great little run

There are so many design faults on my car that it €™s hard to know where to start.
I can't turn the overdrive off, so the bloody thing goes on every time I turn on the engine. It gets turned on and off when my knee hits the button. I drive 99% in the city, but every time I get in the car I have to turn the thing off.
I cannot have a little air come out, because the setting only allows me to set it at off or low. The old Nissan Micra didn't do this.
