Click below to read car reviews of the Nissan Maxima SE. At Review Centre we have thousands of reviews of cars including other Nissan makes and models, both new and used, like the Nissan Skyline, the Nissan Micra and the Nissan Primera.
Nissan Maximas first rolled out in the late seventies as a family car with a powerful engine and some extra quality features thrown in. As such they proved a hit in the solid reliable market. Successive redesigns proved even more successful including the sporty Maxima SE and by 1997 the SE model was selling hundreds of thousands of cars every year.
Maximas comes in three editions: the base GXE, sport SE and luxury GLE. All of them have the same famous engine-a 4-cam 24-valve 3.0-litre V6 which delivers 190 horsepower at 5600 rpm.
This engine's success is said to be based on a broad torque curve. Power arrives at 1600 rpm and stays whirring until 5500. Fluid-filled engine mounts contribute to vibration-free driving and with the SE you also receive a sport-tuned suspension, rear spoiler, foglamps and extra stickier tires to add to the handling experience.

The Nissan Maxima 3.5L SE is a great automobile. Although the owners manual says that 87 octane is OK to run in the fuel tank, I really urge 93 Octane. The knocking is annoying and damaging to the motor on low octane fuels. Want a new 2008 Nissan Maxima, with the redesign and extra

The Nissan Maxima 3.0L. SE has a wonderful engine, so quiet you don't know it's running. No wind noise, beautiful positive ride. Cost £30,000 plus in UK and feels worth every penny - especially now they can be bought so cheaply IF YOU CAN FIND ONE. Owners love them and are loathe to let go, even swallowing the massive depreciation with pride & satisfaction.
Don't blindly buy a BMW/Lexus/Mercedes and pay through the nose, these will have been cossetted and cherished by the total ...

What an excellent car for £800 + £57.50 for a good valet + £36 to replace the wiper blades. Performance is excellent for the car's size although traction control would be nice as the front wheels do spin quite easily. Handling and ride are very good although the seats could be better at supporting your upper body when cornering. It's still a shock to find that all the electric bits still work and that nothing has fallen off after 2 years of Jaguar driving. A proper replacement ...
