We moved to spacious 4 bedroom DW house one and a half years ago. The house is next to the main building compound which was meant to be removed over 6 moths ago [to be replaced with a park], as the rest of the estate was meant to be completed. Wilst the house is asthetically pleasing there have been many issues including bedroom doors that will not open or shut [which should be adressed as a health hazard], brocken boiler that makes a scary banging noise, front door handle falling off [pluss the letter box],large deep cracks on wall corners and the staircase, missing screws in the back door, flimsy walls [poor sound proofing] etc etc...
The roads are left in a poor condition [unbelievabbly muddy and full of stray building material], most workers have no respect for the occupants of the houses and swear and shout on a daily basis. The area where houses were meant to have been built nearly a year ago is still a waste land, which the local teenagers have been using as a race track and a late night party place :[
The houses oppoite, unknowing to us, were set to be housing acossiation [i.e. council]and some of the residents frequently sit outside drinking into the early hours of the morning playing loud music, sending their kids around to our house to steal things[seriously] :[
The local yobs have been using the material and cones left by the workers to wreck havok on our car [at one point leaving scratches] and blocking the road so cars can't get by.
The heavy goods vehicles shake the house and there are several of them daily.
Land that we were told was going to be kept as a field is now being built on.
The house is overall a very nice house and all snags were sorted [eventually], however, when we were shown the house prior to purchase we were primised the site would be gone within under a year, now almost two years later we are still waiting and the workers are no where near finished!
This is far from our dream house, more like a nightmare, lack of sleep due to the noise is causing me huge problems and I can't wait to get the hec out of here!!!!!! Which will be a while considering how overpriced the house was.
