We moved in to a shared ownership and purchased 30% with Moat housing
both moat and Belway have been terrible once your in your stuck. When there is an issue forget customer service they wait until the end of the snagging period and if you get a repeat issue it does not get fixed
the locks have broken 3 times on the back door, the oven heats up the cupboards, the wiring is poor and all in all a complete headache from start to finnish
So if you want a carboard home then you will get a better build quality from a cardboard box in the street

I could cry reading this - i know exactly how you feel. We bought a shared ownership Bellway home through East Thames. Worst mistake ever. We live in East London and from the start we've had broken front gates, broken roller shutter to the car park, flooded car park (because the drainage system doesn't actually lead anywhere), broken front doors (the block is 'known' in the neighbourhood as being easy to get into, so we've more than once come face to face with kids smoking weed and snogging in the hallways + they steal all the bikes in the lock ups since they can walk right in and out), racist graffiti in the bedroom (which they said they would remove, but they never did) leaks in my ceiling, flaky immersion tank, broken doors in the communal areas, faulty wiring, fake ariel sockets (they don't connect to anything - don't even know if there is a roof ariel or not) damp coming in through the doors to the balcony, black mould, flooding in the stairwell, broken lift...I could go on. It would be one thing if either Bellway or East Thames would work towards some kind of solution, but it's always a case of plastering over things until they break again. Customer service on both sides is appalling - no one returns phone calls, no one logs complaints. These things have been going on for the 3 years I've lived here. Feel like I've walked into a huge scam and I can't get out of it because who in their right mind would buy a property that has so many visible problems?
