Neil Gaiman's American Gods - What an engrossing read! Something I can't quite identify about the 'flavour' of this book...reminds me of a combination of Beckett, Louis Sachar and even and maybe Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita. Intertextual vitality plus plus!

I first read Terry Pratchett,Neil Gaiman, Good Omens when I was 15 years old - that was 17 years ago. I never tire of it. It has all the humour of a Terry Pratchett novel but is slightly easier to understand, less out there, more comic. If you've ever found that a cd/tape (whatever it is now days) ...

Neil Gaiman is a brilliant writer, and I've been slowly but surely devouring his back catalogue. Nice writing style, very interesting story. Slightly disturbing in parts - not one to read just before you go to sleep.

Good Omens is a book intellectually and humorously written in good fun. These two author did an amazing job writing it and I find myself applauding them.
