Good rock tracks ruined...Tom Cruise is cringeworthy to the extreme in his Axl Rose type character role. The only saving grace is Russel Brand and Alec Baldwin's camp parts but even then they are not on screen enough. A cast of famous names like Bryan Cranston, Mary J Blige and even Catherine Zeta-Jones could not save this tripe from the bargain bin and is still no reason to pay to see it. The singing was so far off I am reminded of it every time I hear any of the proper versions which has scarred me for life. I don't imagine people that first watched Grease, Tommy or even Saturday Night Fever could have been this dissapointed afterwards, at least the music in those films was original and sung in tune. I am sure the film was made tongue in cheek but I really wish I had not wasted my time or money to see it at the cinema.
