House we wish to purchase has a patch of damp under a bay window. Damp specialist have pointed out its where the owners have plastered below the damp proofing, costs about £500 to repair. Woolwich have said this needed repairing before they will approve the mortgage. We contested this as (we thought at the time) it will delay things further and it's seems such a small thing to have to get repaired! 4 weeks later we're still waiting for the decision to be made. Been passed from pillar to post, told we will know within '48 hours' and then told we'll know by the following week. Absolute nightmare mortgage company to contact- most phone calls last between 20-30 minutes and we still have not had a decision made! Avoid at all costs!
