Positives:
Good customer service
Stamp duty offer

Negatives:
Long call waits to speak with someone (up to 30 minutes regularly)
Income reference was a nightmare. My work did not help by refusing a some of the detail Halifax wanted.
Then required proof of deposit sending to them. The best bit is my savings are with Halifax!
Faxes were not always received and had to be sent multiple times.
Can't send documents on email.

I am pretty certain most lenders are similar so overall I can't be too harsh for the negatives. Things could be made a little bit less stressful. They currently do not have enough staff to deal with the number of new applications going through at present, given call waits are between 20 and 30 minutes. Nevertheless, the staff I spoke to were helpful, polite and empathetic.
