“35000 miles and counting”

★★★★☆

Bought this little old red stalker back in April 2016. My unit was manufactured in 1998, so is one of the early stalkers.
Was cheap, around 400 euros but had some bad points when I got it.
Some broken plastics, bad paintwork, and other issues.
About paint and plastics, I did rattle can spray on the front fairing because it developed a brake oil leak who messed my paintjob.
After rattle painting it, I liked the result.
Then, replaced brake hose, brake paster cylinder and brakepads. Also adjusted the rear brake. Only problem is finding new grimeca kits to rebuilt my brake master cylinder. I wonder if i can just fit the newer models brembo units.
The previous owner didn't seemed to care about keeping her sound.
Also replaced the starter button,. because it didn't operated. Easy fix of just 3 euros! And just because yes, also renewed my turn signals and light selector buttons.
On engine, at first just replaced sparkplug and cleaned the air filter.
Reaches speeds of 50, 55mph (say 80kmh and on downhills with wind behind i even managed to hit 90km/h)
Reliability? AS long all components are good, she does on and on! in one day made a continuos 120km travel (75 miles) on it. was suicide for my kidneys on bad roads, but worth it.
In january 2017 after winter keeping she developed a problem on the fuel tap.
Seriously, a part around 20 years old was never replaced. So, why not, ordered new tap, ordered new intake manifold because noticed mine had a crack, and even ordered a new autochoke. (this was uneeded because my old one operates)
Problem fixed and until this date of my review, still working. Also needed to replace my ignition coil and lead because of bad care from the previous owner.
I am satisfied with it, the piaggio engine is bullet proof, and sometimes i just complain about fuel economy, because seems to drink too much. but then... I'm always going at high speed.
If i could buy a new scooter? I could. They could even me more economical on fuel saving. But wouldn't be as fun as this little devil.
It runs basically as fast as a new chinese 125cc scooter!
