“New clothes only”

Written on: 03/12/2014 by dotworkdalek (1 review written)

I followed the lists of what was acceptable. Did everything they requested. Took over 6 weeks to tell me that only 3kg of the 15kg I'd sent in was acceptable to them. Basically, they only want brand new, unworn clothing which is fashionable. I would not recommend this company as I feel totally ripped off by them. If I'd not spent a long time sorting the items to make sure they were all more than reasonable then fair enough but I had spent the time and effort!… Read Full Review

“TERRIBLE, DISAPPOINTING, COMPLETE RIP...”

Written on: 30/10/2014

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I had a lot of clothes and 5+ pairs of shoes I wanted to get rid off. All or most were in good condition and barely used or worn. All clothes were washed and ironed before I put them in the bag I was sent. I have been sent £3.73 for a lot of good quality clothes (barley worn or never worn). I have sent an e-mail complaining and have had no reply yet, I don't expect much of one after reading the reviews on here. I wish I had read them before requesting or… Read Full Review

“untrustworthy”

Written on: 15/10/2014 by JessieDavis192 (1 review written)

It took a very long time to collect bag, then to receive payment. Friends were with me when we packed the bag with a lot of designer clothes and high street clothing, good quality and wanted to see the outcome. Weight was well over 12 kg however eventually I good an email indicating that only 8 kg plus was suitable (obviously no witnesses what happens to the bags once they leave ones premises? and advised that grand total of £ 4.99 would be paid via Paypal when on checking they actually only… Read Full Review

“AVOID RETURN TO EARN”

Written on: 29/09/2014 by chaale (1 review written)

Complete rip off, of 16kg they accepted 3kg and sent me 16 photos to illistrate why over 80% of my items were rejected. For 16kg of decent clothes I got a little over £2. Customer service was very defensive when i questioned this, I asked what happens to the unaccepted items and they told me they get sent off to use for upholstry and so on although they deny at a profit to them which i would question. READ THE REVIEWS, I WISH I HAD BEFORE I SENT ALL MY CLOTHES TO THEM. I would have rather… Read Full Review

Return to Earn collected a bag from my address on 17th September 2014. On 23rd September I had to email them to find out what had happened to my payment. I received a response stating that I would hear from them by 29th September 2014. On 24th September I received an email from them "Return to Earn.co.uk has just sent you 0.77 GBP with PayPal". Another email they sent states: "Your payment will be credited to your PayPal account within the next 48 hours. Cheque £0.77 Your bag weighed… Read Full Review

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!”

Written on: 22/09/2014 by 263Lyons (1 review written)

I wish I had read the reviews before using returntoearn! I sent a 13kg bag containing 50% brand new clothes, still with labels, and 50% of clothes only worn once or twice to have only 2kg accepted as good condition- unbelievable! The photos sent to me were a pair of shoes with slight creasing on the leather where they had been worn- only natural once worn a couple of times- and the collar of a tee shirt that you could not see any wear and which I knew had only been worn twice, saying… Read Full Review

Written on: 17/09/2014 by Rankindc1951 (1 review written)

When you send your clothes away, you send away your proof really, so when they come back to you and say "sorry it is under the limit", you have no way of complaining - in my case: how can over 2 kg of clothes just magically disappear I wonder..? I really wish I had given them away to one of the charity shops in my town rather than supporting this place. I would not recommend anyone to use Return to earn. Give your clothes to someone else!!… Read Full Review

“No eve or weekend collections”

Written on: 20/08/2014 by JeromeBallard183 (1 review written)

Ordering my bag was straightforward, but when I tried to book a collection date I found they only collect Monday to Friday during the day, not evenings. Those of us who work full time can't sit at home waiting for a text to tell me when the driver is coming. I ended up using a different company. Extended collection time or Saturday collection would be very helpful… Read Full Review

I am in shock over how I ensured my clothes were clean, folded into the bag, and weighed over 10 kilos (as stated in company requirements) before collection, then 2 weeks later received just over £1 for my efforts. “Avoid this company”

Written on: 08/07/2014 by 313Burton (1 review written)

I prepared a full, very heavy bag which contained clothes that were clean, unstained with no holes or breakages. All of the items were in good working order and good for re-sale. It was my understanding that they would be re-sold abroad cheaply. The collection was a mess. The address that they recorded was incorrect. I know this because they emailed me to say that their driver had visited the house and that I was not there. The house number that they had quoted did not exist. I also left the… Read Full Review

“Possibly misleading”

Written on: 10/06/2014

We sent return to earn several items (about 15kg) when we moved house. The issue of a bag and the pick up process went smoothly. However, they accepted about 40% - worth about £4. We were surprised as many of the items were new and unworn or practically new (the result of a successful weight loss). Their photographs illustrating the reasons for items being rejected "heavily worn" were carefully chosen, but did show two items bought (as is the fashion) as faded. One, a sweatshirt, was an… Read Full Review

his company are dreadful, please don't use them. I sent 16kg of good quality clothing, many items were new or almost new & they gave me 84p for it! They posted pictures of some items they rejected. One of the photos was of a brand new Fatface top that had never been worn & they had commented that it was "heavily worn" & so rejected! I have complained & got nowhere. I see now why they send a courier to collect rather than coming to your house & paying you in person as more reputable companies… Read Full Review

Interestingly, I also left a poor review of this company on Yelp & they have had it removed! Yelp shows it as a 5 star business, but if you look beyond the one 5 star review to the reviews that Yelp haven't recommended you get a very different picture - many many negative reviews! I told Return to earn I would be leaving a bad review so they have obviously hunted it out & had it removed, shocking really as it just said the same as the other reviews on Yelp! Beware, a dreadful company!
