“Very good first impressions.”

Written on: 15/08/2014 by Blackwellok141 (1 review written)

My mother has just bought a Quingo Compact and the pre sales and delivery service were excellent. Absolutely no pressure to buy, and the salesman who came to for the test drive pointed out the difficulties we might have as well as the shortcomings. The delivery man deliberately got my mum to negotiate a kerb with a steep incline so that she understood what she needed to do and what it would feel like. We"ve just been on our first drive to the shops. We live at the top of a fairly steepish… Read Full Review

“Superb comfort and turning ability”

Written on: 01/08/2014 by Laylaw60 (1 review written)

I have recently purchased a Quingo Vitess after trying out a number of different types of scooter. The Vitess is so comfortable to drive and it's small turning circle means it's so easy to use in shop. A superb vehicle. THe after sales service has also been excellent with telephone call to check that the delivery was ok and then a few months later to check everything was ok. So all in all an excellent purchase… Read Full Review

“Tax Disc”

Written on: 12/03/2014 by lyngos (1 review written)

Could anyone tell me how to remove plastic cover to insert tax disc in Quingo mobility scooter please. I love it, it's so manoeuvrable. It's like riding a small car. If you can answer my question, please help me!!… Read Full Review

“Overpriced if you want one buy a little used one on E Bay”

Written on: 15/01/2014 by Sandowner (1 review written)

The Quingo is an OK scooter but it is vastly over hyped and over priced. The full page adverts , commissions paid to sales staff ans to Age UK ensure you do not get value for money. Far better to contact your local mobility scooter for advice. But again shop around as even they can vary wildly on price. As a general rule an 8 mph scooter should cost between £1800 and £3000 and a 4 mph between £800 and £1500. Ask about after sales repairs and servicing. Generally avoid cheap online deals on… Read Full Review

“Do not buy a Quingo!!!”

Written on: 28/07/2013

Would your company have the common decency to reply to my recorded letter of 16th July 2013 regarding my father, Mr Woodford, of NP16 6PH. I intend to take this matter up with Trading Standards if I do not get a response… Read Full Review

“I would like some information about the reasons why...”

Written on: 24/05/2013 by carlosbandaros (1 review written)

I would like some information about the reasons why your scooters particularly the twingoplus require road tax and insurance to be used on public roads but to the best of my knowledge do not need a number plate ? As I am aware any road going motorised vehicle using public roads by LAW must display a registered number plate not to mention how you would go about obtaining a dvla licence to use such a vehicle on a public highway Many thanks Carl Williams… Read Full Review

Quingoscooters's Response to carlosbandaros's Review

Written on: 04/06/2013

Hi,
Thank you for your query; we would be happy to answer your questions.

As the Quingo Plus is capable of travelling at the 8mph it is considered a “Class 3 invalid carriage” by the DVLA. This class of scooter is permitted to travel at up to 8mph on the road and up to 4 mph on pavements. A class 3 scooter needs to be registered with the DVLA and display a ‘nil value’ tax disc. This if free.

A class 2 vehicle by contrast, such as the Quingo Classic is permitted to travel at up to 4 mph only and does not require a tax disc. A registration plate is not currently a legal requirement for any scooter and although insurance is not mandatory for a mobility scooter, both Forever Active and the Department for Transport thoroughly recommended that you take it up.

If you’d like more information, the government has a handy guide on mobility scooter rules on their website or you can give our team a call and they’ll be happy to help.

Many thanks, The Forever Active Team.

Mob1000's Response to carlosbandaros's Review

This is simply not true. All class 3 scooters and wheelchairs require a zero rated road tax disc and insurance for road use but no license plate is required.

“a new life”

Written on: 24/04/2013 by 3283 (1 review written)

Had my quingo sports for nearly 3 years. I am virtually unable to walk but I can and do take my cocker spaniel for 5 - 6 miles run every day. Using cycle tracks, farm tracks, across fields and with her sitting between my feet I can travel safely on ordinary roads. I enjoy this and my dog looks forward to her run as soon as I get out of bed each day. Without the reliability, power and ease of use over all terrains of my Quingo sports scooter I would simply not be able to do any of this… Read Full Review

“Absolute Rip Off Merchants - THE NEW DOUBLE GLAZING...”

Written on: 14/03/2013 by JohnHanham (1 review written)

I had a gentleman from Quingo visit my home. It took me 2 hours to get the price out of him and it was absolutely ridiculous (£3000+). He was extremely pushy and it was difficult to get him to leave once we had said no (I am 76 and my wife is 81, we don't much like confrontation). I asked my local mobility shop about them and apparently they are only sold by Quingo direct (not in shops) and all service work has to be carried out by them and they then have a monopoly on what they can charge… Read Full Review

Quingoscooters's Response to JohnHanham's Review

Written on: 15/03/2013

Dear Mr Hanham

We are very sorry to hear of your experience with your Quingo demonstration. We have thoroughly searched our booking system and have no records of anyone having taken an official Quingo demonstration with your name.
It may be that you have not used your real name.

Even if this is the case we urge you to contact our Customer Services Manager on 01582 430900 at your earliest convenience.

We always encourage feedback including any negative comments but we also appreciate the opportunity to resolve issues. We have literally thousands of very happy customers, we know because we survey every one of them including those who do not buy.

For the record, we have strict procedures which govern the demonstration process.

Step 1: We assess every customer to ensure they are safe and able to use scooter safely.
Step 2: We assess the needs of every customer to ensure we supply the correct model suited to those requirements.
Step 3: Only at this stage are we then able to initiate a meaningful conversation regarding the costs and the options for payment.

However prices for all our models are freely available on our literature and online at our website.

With regard the 3 year warranty, this in fact covers ALL electrical or mechanical failure over the entire warranty period. As is standard practice it does not include consumable items. We believe your local dealer clearly had an invested interest in making your believe otherwise.

Finally, the reason you cannot buy Quingo in any mobility shops or online is precisely because many local businesses are unable to provide a level of pre and post sale customer support that we believe all customers deserve and should expect. We operate nationwide with the same high quality product and service throughout.

We very much hope you will take the time to contact us and look forward to speaking with you.

Many thanks, The Forever Active Team.

“Excellent After Sales Service”

Written on: 09/09/2012 by rija (1 review written)

I recentley had to call Quingo because the right hand indicator stopped working on my Quingo Vittesse & a few other teething problems and they sent out a Nice Engineer who was friendly & very attentive & listened whilst I told him what was wrong & he immediately rectified all problems even though my initiall problem was the right indicator. Sorry I cannot remember his name but I just want to say a very big THANK YOU! for getting me driving again & for restoring my confidence to drive again… Read Full Review

“Rip off!!!! DO NOT TOUCH!”

Written on: 12/05/2012

My Dad was dying of lung cancer and my Mum thought as he was finding it more "very nice" man from Quinco came over and basically frightened my Mum into paying £2700 for a scooter that he promised cold not tip over. Rubbish obviously as anything will tip over if at the right angle/speed etc. Now very ill my Dad used it to go out on to a local restaurant for a family meal. Poorly made and designed as it was my Dad cut his leg on a sharp part of the scooter so badly he had to seek medical… Read Full Review
