Bought a locked US AT&T Moto X from eBay (as a second phone) in July which was delivered to me here in Hong Kong by FedEx. Used the Google App for Unlock Unit typed in the requested info into the App: IMEI, Model of phone and original US carrier.
The team was communicated well and answered all my questions promptly. I did have a slight hiccup in that the unlock code could not be acquired from AT&T within 1 hour. Unlock Unit asked me if I wanted a refund or pay $6 more for a total of $19.99 and they would then work with the Motorola Supplier.
They also said if they couldn't get the unlock code from the Motorola Supplier, then I'd get a full refund.
After a total of 24 hours (including the unsuccessful attempt with AT&T) I got the unlock code and Zingo, I'm a happy Moto X user with 4G connectivity in Hong Kong and USA/Canada.
Oh just a hint, after putting in the unlock code, I received an "unsuccessful" unlock message, however, after 3 minutes it disappeared all by itself and I'm connected.
