T-Mobile and certain other cell phone carriers are providing unlock codes for free upon request to their customers that have service plan contracts! Many people haven't known this. If you have a cell phone contract with your provider call and ask regarding the unlock codes to your phone! Don't spend money getting scammed? “Super easy even a nitwit like me could do it :)”

I needed to simunlock my HTC One X phone for travel abroad and a friend told me to unlock it. I don't know much about computer and many sites are very technical but unlockathome.com looked easy enough so I went for it and I literately had my phone unlocking in under 5 minutes! They even have some promotion where I could choose my own price so it was dead-on cheap also! Great site highly recommended. (read more)

www.unlockathome.com has reasonable rates, but if you are under a service plan contract with your cell phone service provider you can most-likely get your unlock codes from them FOR FREE upon request. I received my unlock codes from T-Mobile the next day after I requested them. The T-Mobile representative told me if T-Mobile didn't have the codes onhand and had to contact the cellphone manufacturer it could have taken up to a week for me to receive the codes by email.
