The major cell phone services in the Unites States lock your phone to their specific service for a length of up to two years. The laws in the US require that they allow you to unlock your phone before that but, in my experience, that does not happen. I have an LG shine. To unlock this phone all you needs is the phones IMEI number which is like the phone's serial number and a correct unlock code. I say correct because my phone carrier sent me a number that did not work to unlock my phone and I thought that I was 'up a river, without a paddle' until I called mrunlock. For a very reasonable price they will quickly unlock pretty much any phone. Locking a phone up for two years is unfair. Use mrunlock and strike back!!
