Tried to unlock a Sony Xperia U, that was locked in TMobile UK, in five different places (two online shops and 3 places instore) and all have told me it can not be done as the phone is a new model and the software for it was not released yet. Cellphone unlock has been the only one able to do it, and cheaper than others. Only downside is that it took about a week and a half, and they were advertising instant unlocking on their website, but then on some other places I've been quoted up to 28 days, and they still weren't able to do it. Definitely recommended!
