I bought a Samsung Galaxy S III from AT&T at full price. I not planning to stay with AT&T, so I wanted to unlock my phone. After going through various website, I found a video on YouTube showing how to unlock my phone. The process looked fairly simple and the cost was nominal. I ordered the unlock code yesterday (Thanksgiving) and got the code 1 hours later. Although I tried method 2, 3, and 4 to unlock, they did not work. Customer service responded to my email within an hour. Get a SIM card from a carrier other than the one the phone was issued by. This is method 1 on the instructions. I unlocked the phone in less than 3 minutes. The SIM I used was T-Mobile. It worked like a charm. Worth the money!
