I had this phone for about 4 months, and although it has some cool features, and looks nice, it had quite A LOT of problems.
1. It's battery life is really short, stays for only a couple of hours or so, and battery replacing didn't work.
2. It's screen kept going black, and had severe color and contrast issues.
3. The buttons didn't respond when the slide was at full, even changing the keypad didn't work.
4. Sometimes, the phone would hang while playing music.
There were more problems, but I'll keep it short. There are much better phones worth the same amount of money, so think wisely before buying this phone.

I love my Samsung U700, been using it for 1 and half yr, never had a problem, only i dont like the touch screen as when I read sms and you press it for longer time it replies automatically. The camera is excellent, very clear as my digital camera. only Dont know how it will read or support word or excel files.

The Samsung U700 is a really cool phone. the paint is said to come off the sides but mine turned purple! (cool!!!!!!) this phone is really good but the battery life is terrible. i have to charge sooooo many times, its gets annoying sometimes. still a very good phone! i think you should buy it anyway. every phone has its down side and the battery life is its. Nice phone, slide, when you push the buttons it makes cool noises, big screen, shiny mirror screen.

I had the phone for 1 year now i haven't had any problems with it, I just wanted to say sorry if you had problems with the phone. I like the phone and hope it doesn't give me problem's!
I do well recommend Samsung U700, its a cool sexy phone, really nice looking, and very easy to use for me personally. I feel I have experienced no bad points with this samsung mobile phone.

The phone is a waste of time do not buy it. There are alot of bad points. First of all the paint on the sides come off within a few months. the buttons alaways break the screen sometimes goes blank and never comes on again.

I love the way my Samsung U700 looks, it's big screen and the camera and video are fab BUT it needs charged constantly and the touchscreen has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it will send a text to someone without me even touching send and you can't cancel it plus call button too sensitive so calls people when you don't want it to. Also touchscreen doesn't work sometimes and when I have finished a call I can't hang up as end call button just freezes. Not the worst phone I have had but almost! Used to love Samsung but now thinking of returning to Sony Ericson or Nokia.

Just a rubbish phone for what you pay for it. Screen rarely works, easy to exit out of messages and phone calls because of the touch screen. Overall just a bad phone!

Well I brought the Samsung U700 a couple of weeks ago, previously having had the Samsung E900 I liked the touch screen buttons unlike most people I Know, however the Vodafone software on the phone I awful and you will need to get it flashed or it will drive you insane!! Then there is the battery life!! e.g. I charged mine up last night, took it off charge in the morning with the display saying "Battery full" then turned it on about 8:30am by 1:00pm "battery low" was flashing and by 1:30pm it was dead, to cope with this I have had to order a new battery therefore i will have two and the phone might make it through the day! Lucky i can charge mine up ll the time, however if you can't do this don't buy this phone!!

Where to start. After a couple of months the Silver edges have chipped away, wear and tear shows very early on the Samung U700. The battery life is really bad as well. Other comments have said that the camera is good but I cant even say that, maybe its just me but my old phone (Sony Ericsson K800i) had a much better camera.
The touch screen buttons are appalling, you end up sending text you dont want to and deleting texts your half way through! They dont respond when you need them to, pressing buttons over and over is getting frustrating.
On the whole the phone looks good but has too many problems that you only really realise once its too late. Also, its only available on Vodafone but that's a problems in a different category to this one.
I would not recommend this to anyone.

Stay away from Vodafone, buy the Samsung U700 privately if you can.

I love and hate this phone! Beautiful, fantastic 3G speed and superb camera/video but battery is appalling(charge twice a day!) And way over priced. I have a week to decide whether to keep it or not, I just don't know. Buyer beware at £250.

A good looking, slim phone that unfortunately values style over substance. I have only had my Samsung U700 for three weeks but, despite taking very good care of it, it is already showing signs of wear. The touch keys are an unnecessary and infuriating gimmick and poor battery performance put the nail in the coffin.
It is a shame as with a bit more thought it could have been a very good phone.
