I love this little phone! I got it from my dad, and it still works today. It's just indestructable, easy to use. If only I could get a new case then it would be awesome! And if it had a memory slot then it would be the BEST phone EVER!!!

So many useful gadgets, super, record in time of a conversation, compass, soundmeter, mp3. 2 day battery life, ugly camera, is very bad but..it is a phone!! If you want movies buy a camera. Pity don't have memory card. It's a good phone you must have it. Honest.

Great phone except the buttons and the screen.
Have dropped mine several times and it is fine - in fact, I am now used to chucking it on to the table instead of gingerly placing it on the table. Hope I get out of that habit before I acquire any future phone I might get.
Ended up deleting most of the software on the phone as it was a waste of time -
the exercise stuff needs an external gadget to be of use to you.
The DECIBEL meter is actually very accurate - I had to have a sound test done and asked the bloke if he would humour me for 20 seconds whilst I held the phone up in the air. It was within 1-2 decibels @ 75Db.
The wind chill calculator is for moments of pure boredom when there is nothing to do and depression sets in.
Deleted the games - waste of memory.
Anyway - not a bad phone, unless you do a lot of texting, or want to dial a phone number quickly.

The Nokia 5140i is not designed by engineers, definitely a marketing guy's idea of what an "outdoor" phone should be like. My guess was that Nokia started off being an engineering company with the moto...keep it simple...and now. If you text a lot, well then your gonna tear your hair out with this little one, it's so bad you just cannot believe this phone was even designed for someone who may use the "Create txt Msg" feature, which is kinda useful one, unlike the other ones which are just put there for free cause the software has already been written for other phones in the Nokia range.
I had an Nokia 3310. It does exactly what it says on the tin. What is so wrong with designing a robust durable phone as in 5140i and just using the 3310 button layout and user interface software? Really, who is going to use the camera, compass, tourch, stopwatch, spirt level, thermometer, multimedia, bla bla bla? Voice Text for the real world users, gimmicks for the pseudo business types & kiddies.
I think the phone looks great (minus the extra useless buttons) and is an outdoors phone, the only one I'm currently aware of anyway.
Message to marketing guys out there: There is a market out there for simple/reliable phones for people who still use a phone to do the basics.

A well thought out stylish phone, the Nokia 5140i is ideal for anybody who loves the outdoors and wants an easy to use no fuss mobile.

The Nokia 5140i mobile phone is overall excellent. It had a good price, and it is good for clumsy or sporty people.
I recommend that you have a good look at this phone before you look at any others.

As i am a Big fitness freak, and bit careless especially with my mobile phones and MP3 players, I was looking for a phone which fulfils my workout needs and suits my personality as well. The Nokia 5140i was exactly that type, as it is strong, rugged, stylish and most importantly, it's indestructible and very handy, especially for those who travel a lot. Well, they say there is no such thing as PERFECT, and I guess that goes for the NOKIA 5140i as well. My belief is that if something convinces you more then 70%, then go for it, because again there is no such thing as perfect. The closest is 99.99%, and those things are usually very expensive.
