Since renewing my contract in Dec 2012 I found that I had no service on the Isle of Skye at New Year (previous years was patchy but available) AND PATHETIC COVERAGE AT HOME. Kept getting the message "NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK both on Skye and at home. Tesco confirmed that I was in a good coverage area but I simply struggle to find a signal anywhere in the house and have to resort to the conservatory or garden. Customer service is a complete joke as they have no solution to the problem and keep coming up with brilliant answers such as ....wipe the sim card...turn the phone off and back on....go on to 2g. All these things I have done as well as getting a replacement phone from the Tesco Phone Shop (at least the manager tried to help but also got nowhere with customer service)I also got a replacement sim. same problem continues however!!!!! They wont release me from the contract with me paying the full balance of the contract!!!!! despite the fact I have little in any reception in an area Tesco regard as perfectly ok. There last communication again repeated previous suggestions. this is there last reply
Thank you for contacting Tesco Mobile Customer Service.
I understand you’ve changed your phone and using a new SIM card with it. I'm sorry if you're still facing the problem while using it.
Please don't consider above as a reason the cancel the contract.
I can confirm that now there's no network problem in your postal area. I'd request you to just switch off your phone and take the SIM card out, wipe it off with a soft cloth and put it back into your phone. I'm sure you'll not face any problem.
I appreciate your patience with this matter.
This is simply of no help whatsoever
