i was recently on a family holiday in New York. being such a busy place my phone was always in my bag, hand or zipped up pocket. taking a break after shopping, we went to mcdonalds for a snack. upon leaving the restaurant, i checked my bag and pocket for my phone and i couldnt find it. i quickly returned to the table we were sitting at to see if the phone was there. i wasn't and i could not find the phone. i promptly rang orange to block the phone. my phone is the iphone4. after returning home i rang orange to make a claim that i had lost my phone on holiday, and being covered i was told i would have to pay a fee of £50 to replace, that was fine. but the man on the phone backed me into a corner, twisting my words and confusing me into agreeing with him. he then told me my claim had been rejected and in order to replace the phone i would need to pay £418!!! as i ask him why, he said because i told him that id left the phone on the table and walked away, adn because the phone wasnt on me or locked in a secure place when it was lost, my insurance cover would not cover the loss. as i tried to explain that i told him i went back to the table to double check, he interrupted me and would not let me speak for the rest of the phone call. i hung up angry and annoyed that someone who works with orange within "customer service" spoke to and treated a customer like that. my parents rang them explaining what had happened and we have now made an appeal against the rejected claim.
£418 for a replacement! id rather cancel my contract and move over with another service provider!!!!
have been a customer for 4 years and my mother for almost 10!!
