o2 were doing a great offer on an iPhone 3GS that I could not resist: £21.50 a month for 24 months with 100 minutes and 500 texts per month. I was ok with these terms at the time and signed up. I had to give a deposit of £150.00 which I was assured would be credited back into my bank account after 3 months. I was absolutely fine with that and couldnt forsee any problems.
Well, they did credit the money back to me but not to my bank account it was to my o2 account and have been paying my bills from it eversince, despite many, many phone calls from me requesting the money back. Everyone I have ever spoken to at Customer Services has said the last person didnt fill in the right form and they would definitely make sure the correct paperwork was filled in and a request sent, even filled them in while I was on the phone. Well I now know that its a load of rubbish and they have no intention of giving me the money back.
They took the money from me in the first place because they didnt trust that I would pay my bills which I did no hassle and I foolishly trusted them.
I have been a pay as you go customer with o2 in the past and was always singing their praises to friends and even converted a few but I will NEVER have another thing to do with them after this and I will make certain that from now until the contract ends that they do not get a penny over the £21.50.
I have only given one star because I have to and NOT because I think they deserve it because they don't!
