“Orange Insurance Scam”

Written on: 03/07/2012 by Adrian1983 (1 review written)

Unless you report the problem with your phone within 48 hours of damage they will not pay out. I was told on appeal there are no mitigating circumstances as it is in the 'terms & conditions'. So if you're on holiday and your phone breaks; ensure you call the number before the end of your holiday. Please note they track when your sim card is inserted in the phone and will know if you are lying about the date of damage. This is a SCAM

Sorry, but i think you'll find it gives you and extra 48 hours on your return into the UK to make your claim. Also it is 'your' job to read the terms and conditions of your insurance. You agreeing to take out the insurance and agreeing to the terms means you agreed that 48hours was long enough for you to report it into orange.

I do not see what relevence 48 hours has to an insurance claim of this nature whereby the screen is damaged; with IMEI numbers Orange know that it is my physical handset and can easily verify this to avoid any fraudulent claims. With a claim for loss there may be some weight behind a counter argument but not damage where the actual phone is supplied for repair

Accidental damage is covered in the policy

I somehow doubt you are sorry
