kaf2345's review of Fonesafe Mobile Phone Insurance

“Your phone is NOT safe!”

Written on: 01/07/2012 by kaf2345

Wow, so where to start... In January I purchased a iPhone4S on contract from T-Mobile, with this I was sold insurance for roughly £11 a month. I thought this would mean I'm protected and if I lost or damaged my iPhone they would come to my rescue, after all £11 is a fair amount of money... On the 01/04/2012 AM my phone was stolen in a bar in Dalston from my handbag, immediately I rang T-Mobile to report the phone stolen and enquired about the insurance. They gave me the number of 'FoneSafe' and specified that I must call them within 48 hours. The evening of the 01/04/2012 I rang the FoneSafe number I had written down earlier, Fonesafe had no record of me taking out insurance with them. I was fuming, I rang T-Mobile back and explained the situation. I was passed onto a lady called 'Tracey' from T-Mobile now Tracey was very helpful and got in contact with FoneSafe on behalf of myself and explained what had happened. Tracey got back to me over the next few months with arguments from Fonesafe such as 'She didn't have enough money in her account when she signed up so we couldn't take payment' I confirmed there was sufficient funds and that I could prove it FoneSafes next argument 'The account number is missing a digit' I confirmed the missing account number and said look this isn't a good enough excuse because FoneSafe should have been in contact if they didn't have the right bank details and they haven't been. On the 17/05/2012 I got a call from Tracey explaining that FoneSafe had agreed to put through my claim, FINALLY. FoneSafe sent me a claims form which I filled in and sent off straight away first class post. So it's now 25/06/2012 I've just received an extremely rude phone call from FoneSafe arguing that I never gave them the correct bank details, ridiculous. I was put on hold for ten minutes only for the worker to then tell me that I didn't ring FoneSafe within 48 hours of the phone being stolen and even if I did it wouldn't make a difference because my details weren't recognised at the time. I am now being asked to find my call to FoneSafe because it's not on their system! If I don't find the outgoing call then I will not be covered. wow, WHAT A JOKE. Do not take out phone insurance with FoneSafe, I feel like I should have been given ten iPhones with the amount of grief they have put me through. I wish I had read other reviews before I took out the insurance, absolutely shocking service.
