Mitsubishi Eclipse

Click below to read car reviews of the Mitsubishi Eclipse. At Review Centre we have thousands of reviews of cars including other Mitsubishi makes and models, both new and used, like the Mitsubishi Shogun, the Mitsubishi Lancer and the Mitsubishi FTO.

The sporty Mitsubishi Eclipse was launched in 1989 - a front wheel drive, three door sports hatchback powered by four cylinder engines. It was a high performance creation born out of a joint development between Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and MMMA (Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc.) formerly Diamond Star Motors. There were four models - the base 1.8 litre engine Eclipse, Eclipse GS DOHC 2.0 litre, Eclipse GS DOHC Turbo featuring a turbocharged 2.0 litre and the Eclipse GSX included the turbo charge and all wheel drive.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Turbo and GSX were quickly among the fastest four-cylinder production automobiles in the world however these turbocharged versions did not sell well for some reason. Performance: GS Turbo: 0-60 in 6.8 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.2 seconds @ 91.5 mph.

I have a 1990 Eagle Talon TSI, It now has a built motor, fuel system, brakes, tires, 3" turbo back, Shift kit, and many other performance parts. Mitsubishi Eclipse sports cars have very strong motors, I recommend getting a 6 bolt motor and putting 2g pistons on it. This is a great build and supports a lot of horsepower at a cheap price.

I would not trade my Mitsubishi Eclipse for any thing, and I suggest that you try and get one if you do not have one. Aftermarket products are through the roof for the eclipse cars. I only have a thermal exhaust no cat. KandN turbo filter. Skunk 2 short shifter. Greedy front mount intercooler. Greed ...

Overall, the showroom price for the Mitsubishi Eclipse is a bit much, but overall I think the price is well worth the car. Another thing is that the 95-99 eclipse is a great car and the motor does just fine. Like any other car, keep with with the maintenance and keep the boost reasonable, it's a car ...

I started with a bone stock and I put about $25000 total on the car but it has 612hp at the wheels and 630fpt and 24psi. I race cars for a living and I also have a Supra with 765hp and I like to drive the Mitsubishi Eclipse better.
