Item: Microsoft Windows Vista
I never thought I would write a review of Windows Vista, but....
I've been putting off an 'upgrade' to Vista for quite a while. In fact, Vista Home Premium only lasted a week before XP went back on. Each manufacturer has to provide its own drivers, so is that Microsoft's' fault?
I've just upgraded my cpu to a intel Q6600, with 8 Gb mem and 2 Tb of storage. Do you remember when a 4Gb hard drive was huge?

This is very good to xp... yes xp works with anything we know.. but vista will mature.. and when a windows gets old its time to change it... yes some people don't like it and have problems.. but not all pc's are the same... you have to take it account the age off you pc and the age off you software that runs in it.. but thumps up for the hard work in it.. xp had problems when that first come ...

Item: Microsoft Windows®Vista?Home Basic Edition
No point in migrating from XP to Vista Basic. All the new Vista bells and whistles are reserved for the expensive versions.
I bought a basic laptop with Vista Basic pre-installed and played with it for a few days before reformatting and installing XP Pro. With 1Gb of RAM XP flies along and does everything Vista Basic does and a lot more. My main issue was networking as my laptop has to connect to an office LAN and Vista Basic won't.
Too basic.. fine for very simple 'stand ...

Listing all its inadequacies would be as tedious as using it.
If you are currently using XP and you have it set-up the way you like, don't change to Vista. There is no option to have any XP look or feel, with extra bells and whistles, as you might
