Tesco rump selection.
I am amazed at the sheer number of rump steaks offered by them. 3 different ranges and an incredible 8 different prices. The product descriptions look like they have been written by a lawyer rather than a butcher. Another case of a lot of pretty meaningless blurb but in most cases no country of origin. Why? They have also offered rump as frying steak at an incredible £5.5o per kg it is definitely rump in their picture so I would recommend you ask them to cut you this at any of their meat counters, you will then see if you do get rump as in their picture or not. If you get rump then I recommend that you bulk buy for all your summer barbecues.
Tesco Value Rump Steak £9.98 per kg
Their cheapest rump and the cheapest rump in any of the selected supermarkets.
Website description has a little information so I suggest that you please read the more detailed information for this product research it on the internet.
My interpretation of the product description from their website. This steak carries the same pedigree as the Tesco finest range (see below) but is an astounding £5.01 per kg cheaper. I take my hat off to you Tesco's what a discount. This is not only the cheapest but with all that farm assurance and matured as well. Must represent the best value of all the steaks I have revued.
Comment, I hope that they are confident that this steak will live up to its description but I would love to know where it comes from. The Master Butcher
