I'm not a huge lover of canned foods in general, but there are times when throwing together a quick salad that a tin of tuna, mackerel or salmon comes in very handy. However, I have found it very difficult in the past to find a brand of canned fish that is caught sustainably, is still reasonably priced and doesn't compromise on quality. Fish 4 Ever have solved my problem! Fish 4 Ever sell a variety of fish in cans, but I have so far tried their Mackerel, Tuna and Salmon. They are all certified as 'sustainable seafood' which is very important to me. They don't can their fish in rancid oil or add lots of salt to brine it - its simply fish and spring water. The flavour is noticeably more delicious; the mackerel tastes almost as good as fresh mackerel, and both the tuna and salmon have more of a meaty and less 'fishy' taste than a lot of other brands in a can. I think Fish 4 Ever are excellent value as well, with one tin in the region of £1.50 - £2.00. This puts them just above the likes of John West, but for the quality, its a price I'm happy to pay.
